about
"Holding On" is about the abrupt changes the pandemic has caused humanity. We are all trying to find ways to cope amidst tremendous uncertainty. I wrote this song in the summer of 2020, and it is the prelude to my last acoustic release "Is It Over?"
When the pandemic hit, I was attending university classes and working two different education jobs. I remember celebrating a friend’s 30th birthday in Saskatoon and enjoying NHL hockey on television. Suddenly, within a few days, everything was shut down and I was unemployed.
Since March 2020, I feel like we are all just “Holding On” and doing our best to make it through a really challenging time full of unknowns and uncertainties. My last single “Is It Over?” was essentially about burnout and exhaustion from dealing with the impact these rapid changes have had on our mental health. Music has always been my therapy, and I hope my emotionally honest songs are able to connect with you.
lyrics
Lately I Feel,
Like We Might Have Skipped A Page,
And We Can't,
Put It Down.
Here We Are,
In This Great Unknown,
And We Spin Round.
You Are My Therapy.
You Are All That I Need.
You Are My Therapy.
You Are All That I Need.
So Tell Me,
How We Can,
Maybe,
Please,
Leave This Place & Go Away,
I Don't Think I Give A Shit Anymore.
I'm Holding On To You,
I'm Holding On With You.
I'm Holding On To You,
I'm Holding On With You.
Yeah...
